Afro-Cuban Connection is a residential cultural immersion camp created by Alfredo Garcia Gonzalez — former dancer of Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba and founder of AfroCubanOnline.

The camp takes place at Hotel Wityng — a peaceful lakeside hotel surrounded by nature.

The afrocuban camp by Alfredo was a very deep and immersive experience into afrocuban folklor with a touch of spirituality that allowed me to understand the full scope of afrocuban dances and their cultural/religious roots. Held in a very nice privatised location on the countryside made the entire group come together and create great bonds with people from all around Europe, all of us eager to learn and deepen our interest and knowledge of this very rich culture. Alfredo is, to me, one of the best Maestros to take us on this wonderful cultural journey, he knows how to embark our curiosity to make it land in the “I got this” place. Through early morning awakening sessions to late at night ceremonial dances, through singing and playing drums. The most complete afrocuban adventure, any afrocuban culture aficionado should live at least once in his/her life !

Alfredo's Afrocuban Camp was an incredibly enriching and inspiring experience for me. The combination of high-quality teaching, passionate instructors and an open, warm atmosphere made the camp something very special.
I was particularly impressed by the authenticity of the workshops. The content was not only taught technically, but also linked to a wealth of background knowledge about Afro-Cuban culture, music and history.
The organisation was very well structured, the schedule clearly communicated, and yet there was still enough room for encounters, exchanges and socialising. The energy during the workshops and especially during the joint sessions in the evening was simply unique.
The interaction among the participants was also characterised by respect, openness and a genuine joy in music and movement. You could feel that this was not just about dancing, but about sharing and living culture.
