"It is an essential and technical book with lots of details about songs, toques, stories and much more.
– Alfredo Garcia Gonzalez
"With great satisfaction I received and read this book elaborated by an excellent Cuban dancer and teacher, who has really surprised me, since, despite the existence of many good Cuban dance teachers, both in Cuba and abroad, they have not been willing to write, report the origins of this manifestation of traditional Cuban popular culture, detailed steps, intentions and gestures; relate songs and rhythms, but above all, write down the didactics used personally for his teaching.
With a clear and pleasant prose to read, the author accurately guides the readers, specifically those who follow his courses, emphasizing in this case the ritual characteristics of the dances belonging to the Cuban Regla de Osha, popularly known as Santeria, steps and dances developed in the ritual festivals that are organized, specifically in the Wemilere, Tambor de Santo or Drum in honor of the deities or Orishas of Yoruba origin, for which he has had to carry out bibliographical research that ratifies many of his approaches according to his experiences as dancer and active practitioner of this religion, also making mention and fair recognition of who was his teacher, Julián Villa, dancer of the Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba."
